  • Dr Martin Anderson Principal Dentist and Clinical Director

    Martin qualified at Newcastle University in 1977, just after the war! He is married to Cheryl and has two children, Matthew and Hayley. He lives in South Shields. Martin started Wessington Way Dental Practice in July 2001 and is the Clinical Director. He was awarded Dentist of the Year in 2003 and the International Picker Award for delivering excellent patient centred care. He formed and founded North East Private Dentists and has been elected the Regional President of the British Dental Association for 2011. Martin is a fitness fanatic and social butterfly.

  • Dr Richard Coates Associate Dentist

    Richard qualified at Newcastle University in 1992 and has a special interest in cosmetic dentistry, endodontics and dental implants, and is Vice Chairman of the North East Private Dentists (NEPD).He attends international dental conferences regularly which keeps him up to date on all new innovations in dentistry. He joined Wessington Way Dental Practice as an Associate Dentist in 2002 and is committed to providing ethical cosmetic general dentistry to his patients in a relaxed atmosphere. Richard is married to Claire and has two children, James and Charlotte. In his spare time Richard enjoys diving, snowboarding and cycling. Originally from Felling he unfortunately supports Newcastle United!

  • Dr Andy Robson Associate Dentist

    Andy qualified at Newcastle University in 1989. He has been deeply involved in postgraduate education since qualifying including a diploma in postgraduate dental studies in 2007. He also works as an associate clinical lecturer on the paediatric department in Newcastle Dental Hospital. He joined Wessington Way Dental Practice in 2010. Andy lives in Newcastle with his wife, Diane and their Labrador puppy, Izzy. In his spare time he enjoys a round of golf, sarcasm and reading.

  • Maxine Carr Dental Hygienist

    Maxine qualified as a Dental Hygienist at Newcastle University in 1994 where she achieved Oral-B’s Hygienist of the Year Award. She joined Wessington Way Dental Practice in 2002. She lives in Sunderland with her husband, Robert and Bulldog, Molly. In her free time she enjoys keeping fit, fell walking, reading and travelling the world.

  • Kay Pounder Dental Hygienist

    Kay worked as a Dental Nurse for many years before deciding to move on to study Dental Hygiene. She qualified as a Dental Hygienist at Newcastle University in 2008 and has worked at Wessington Way Dental Practice ever since. Kay loves going on holiday and spending time with family and friends. She lives in South Hylton with her husband, Grant and son, Konner.

  • Amanda Oliver Practice Manager and Implant Nurse

    Amanda has been Dental Nursing since 1999 joined Wessington Way Dental Practice in the beginning in 2001. She went on to become the practice supervisor in 2003 then practice manager in 2011. Amanda is the head of practice’s implant team and she is always busy keeping the team in check! Amanda lives in South Shields with her new husband, Craig. Their dream in life is to become fully self-sufficient.

  • Jayne Fagan Practice Supervisor

    Jayne joined Wessington Way Dental Practice in 2007 after gaining a degree in Business Management at Sunderland University. She qualified as a Dental Nurse in 2009 and holds a distinction in a Dental Reception Diploma. Her role has recently changed to Practice Supervisor. Jayne is originally from Washington but now lives in Seaham. She enjoys live music, comedy and travelling when she gets half a chance! She recently celebrated her engagement to boyfriend, Michael.

  • Suzanne Walton Practice Supervisor and Implant Nurse

    Suzanne has been a Dental Nurse since 2001 and became a Wessington Way Dental Practice team member in 2006. She qualified as a Dental Nurse in 2009 and her role has recently changed to Practice Supervisor. She is currently working towards her Advanced NVQ in Customer Service. Suzanne lives in Easington with her husband, Anth and daughter, Amy. She also has a daughter, Natalie and is a doting Nana to 2 year old, Halle. She is a very keen walker and especially loves rambling through the Lake District. Suzanne loves animals and has had a wide variety in her time! She is a very social person and even makes her own wine!

  • Laura Keeling Dental Nurse

    Laura joined Wessington Way Dental Practice as a fresh-faced 16 year old in 2008. She gained her dental nursing qualification two years later in 2010 and is a happy team member! Laura lives in Seaburn Dene with her family and enjoys shopping, watching Sunderland and going out with friends. She is happiest when she is changing her hair style and colour!

  • Lauren Forster Dental Nurse

    After a spell at 6th form, Lauren joined WWDP in 2008, just in time for the Christmas party! She is now a qualified dental nurse and qualified in February 2011. Lauren lives in Grindon with her family. She loves going and eating out with friends and watching films.

  • Kirsty Everest Trainee Dental Nurse

    After studying beauty therapy, Kirsty decided she was on the wrong career path and joined Wessignton Way Dental Practice as a Dental Nurse in 2010. She is currently studying for her dental nursing qualification at the North East Chamber of Commerce. Kirsty lives in Seaham and is an animal lover. She enjoys shopping, going to the cinema and spending time with her family and boyfriend, Andrew.

  • Karen Russell Trainee Dental Nurse

    The recession led to Karen joining Wessington Way Dental Practice! After the closure of Littlewoods, she decided a new career was in order and began Dental Nursing in 2010. She is currently undergoing her dental nurse training at the North East Chamber of Commerce. Karen lives in Farringdon with her boyfriend, Paul. She is a very family orientated person and enjoys shopping, going out with friends and eating!
