Urgent treatment means treatment that the dentist considers necessary to relieve severe pain or prevent your oral condition deteriorating before you can make a normal appointment.
If you need urgent treatment outside of the opening hours you can telephone the practice on 0191 5498888 where an answer machine message will give you contact details.
We also offer a small number of appointments during practice opening hours for patients who need urgent treatment but do not have an appointment. If you think you need urgent treatment you can contact us as early as possible in the morning.
You may not see your usual dentist but we will aim to deal with the immediate problem within 24 hours.
Wessington Way membership scheme patients will have worldwide trauma and emergency call out insurance provided by practice plan. The emergency call out aspect of this insurance means emergency treatment can be provided by any dentist worldwide who agrees to treat you. You simply pay the emergency call out charge to the dentist concerned and collect a receipted invoice. This will then be processed through the practice for reimbursement from the insurers and you will be refunded the call out fee, minus the excess, up to the policy limits. This cover is to provide immediate pain relief only; no additional or restorative treatment fees can be claimed. You should return to the practice in normal hours for any further treatment required.
