"Over the past couple of years, I have attended a local dental surgery in Sunderland. During this time I was having regular visits to the surgery. A six month visit to see the dentist and every three months to see the dental hygienist, but yet, I was still having problems to do with my gums and at one point discussion took place regarding a dental hospital appointment.It was at this point I decided to leave this practice, as I had lost all confidence in their ability to do the job. It was only after I had done this that a friend recommended I should ask to join the Wessington Way Dental Practice, as the care and service were excellent, which I did.
On my first visit to Wessington Way dental practice I was put at ease straight away by Richard, my Dentist and introduced, to Maxine Carr who is one of the practices hygienists, within that very first visit Richard was able to assess and diagnose the problem and put in place plan of treatment, which involved two visits to see him and five visits to Maxine over a short period of time.
Over the short period of time I have been attending the Wessington way practice, they have managed to successfully sort the problems out, without any discomfort to myself and have given an excellent, friendly service, which is second to none, it goes without saying I have recommended the practice to family, friends and work colleagues."

"After the initial panic of breaking my front crown I had no worries about going to my dentist Richard Coates at Wessington Way Dental Practice knowing I would get good advice and service. I was advised I would need a new complete crown and with it being my front tooth decided to get both teeth done at the same time. Richard told me as my crowns were quite old I would need my teeth whitened as the new materials were much different than my previous ones, I have been absolutely delighted with my treatment over the last few months and the finished result is fantastic. "I had been unhappy with my smile for many years, but had never really done anything about it. For as long as I can remember (probably since about the age of 5) I had been really afraid of going to the dentist.
Unfortunately for me I just had too many teeth for my mouth, so my teeth weren’t very straight. Being in my 30’s I always thought that I missed the opportunity to make any improvements so it was something that I just needed to live with. About 4 years ago I plucked up the courage to register with Wessington Way Dental Practice and met Martin Anderson for the first time. Martin was fantastic and for the first time ever someone told me I had nothing to feel guilty about – some of us are just luckier than others when it comes to what teeth we get!
Martin corrected some minor issues and suggested that I replaced my amalgam fillings with white fillings, but if I wanted more of an improvement then I would really need to consider orthodontic treatment. It took me a little while to decide what to do but eventually I went through with the orthodontic treatment and went to see Mr West at the Wearside Orthodontic Centre. The treatment included having 3 teeth removed and some pain along the way. I needed fixed braces for about 18 months (this at the age of 36!). It was hard work but I’m so pleased I did it. Happy with the results I then decided to have my amalgam fillings replaced with nice white ones.
I can honestly say that it’s one of the best things I’ve ever done for myself. I love to smile now and am no longer afraid of going to the dentist! It’s great to be able to smile without worrying about what your teeth look like. If anyone is unhappy with their smile I’d recommend that they stop all the worrying and do something about it – they won’t regret it!
Everyone at Wessington Way Dental Practice has been absolutely great, they understand that people do get anxious about going to the dentist and you really have a sense that they care about you and your teeth."
